Yoga at The Centre for Natural Health

We have been hosting Yoga for many years here at
The Centre.
We continue to adhere to the principles of yoga teaching that we hold most dear:

  • Small class sizes of typically 6-8 to ensure that each student receives the personalised tuition they deserve.
  • The appropriate environment: Our rooms are warm, carpeted and peaceful.
  • We teach pure yoga: Each student can be assured that the yoga they will be taught is the most ancient and traditional Hatha Yoga that has been practised in the same form for centuries.
  • Beginners are very welcome

Our yoga teacher, now into her fourth year with us, is Maggie Bantick. Maggie trained at The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres. This organisation is committed to preserving the purity and tradition of this most beneficial, life enhancing form of exercise.

Maggie is fully qualified and insured to teach regular Hatha Yoga as well as Pregnancy and Post-natal Yoga.

The Benefits of Yoga

  • Strengthened and toned muscles
  • A more flexible and youthful spine
  • Reduced tension in the neck, shoulders and lower back

  • Correct breathing
  • Deeper breathing revitalizes the body and calms the mind
  • When the breath is steady the mind is steady

  • Improved relaxation and higher energy levels
  • Each stretch practised releases stress stored in the body as blockages
  • As these are removed the prana (energy) is allowed to flow freely, increasing vitality

After a Yoga Class you wil feel relaxed, yet energised:

Yoga exercises all parts of the body, its central focus being the spine.

You are only as young as your spine! so maintaining its flexibility and strength is paramount.

Yoga facilitates this through measured exercise.

The internal organs are massaged. This assists in detoxifying the body, aiding digestive regularity.

Proper exercise in harmony with proper breathing technique releases tension and promotes a profound feeling of wellbeing and relaxation.

As part of your life, yoga will not only develop the body but broaden the mind and your spiritual capacity.

How Does It Work?

  • All our yoga classes are structured as a series of four sessions that you enjoy over a four week period, one a week.
  • At the fourth class of the series you book for the next series of four classes starting the following week.
  • The full cost of the four week series of classes is payable in advance by cash (in person at The Centre - please do not post cash) or cheque.
