Introduction to Pilates
Pilates is a unique form of exercise that develops body awareness. This helps improve your body’s posture and alignment, while increasing flexibility and ease of movement.
The centre of your body is strengthened, supporting your lower back which enables you to stand up straight and hold your upper body correctly.
Pilates helps to:
• create a balance between strength and flexibility
• improve coordination
• release stress and tension
• improve posture
• prevent injury
• improve general fitness and body awareness
• relieve aches and back pain
The Classes
The classes are scheduled as a 6 week group of one hour sessions. One-to-one tuition is also available.
“…Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness. In order to achieve happiness, it is imperative to gain mastery of your body. If at the age of 30 you are stiff and out of shape, you are old. If at 60 you are supple and strong then you are young.” - Joseph Hubertus Pilates
